The 2015 Harrison County Cat Show was held Friday evening, July 24, in the 4-H Exhibit Building at the fairgrounds in Missouri Valley. Chloe Green of Mondamin received the trophy for her Champion Long-Haired cat, Thomas; and Jamie Plowman took home the trophy for her Champion Short-Haired cat, Cocoa.

The crowd stood up to sing the American Anthem because the kids decided to start singing as part of their entertainment to the crowd.

The 4-H Extemporaneous Speaking Contest was held Friday afternoon, July 24, in the 4-H Exhibit Building. Participants selected a topic at random from three pre-determined topics to speak on, and were then given 15 minutes to prepare a speech to present in front of the judges. This is a special event that is designed to encourage senior 4-H members in the development of their communication skills.
From a group of five participants, two were selected to advance to the 2015 Iowa State Fair: Heidi Graff and Catherine Dublinske. Brianna Darnell was selected as the Reserve winner. Noah Dickerson and Ben Hennessy received blue ribbons for their speeches.

The 2015 Harrison County 4-H Dairy, Meat and Specialty Goat Show was held Thursday, July 23, following the 4-H Sheep Show. Earning top honors this year were Mattingly Marcum of Missouri Valley with his Champion Dairy Goat, Bailey Schaben of Dunlap with the Champion Meat Goat, and Andrew Thoreson of Woodbine with the Champion Specialty Goat.

The 2015 Harrison County Fair’s 4-H Horse Show was held Thursday, July 23, in the show ring at the fairgrounds in Missouri Valley. The show was originally scheduled for Tuesday, but had to be postponed until Thursday due to recent rains. Dalton Birke of Missouri Valley was awarded this year’s Sportsman Award, the Junior High Point winner was Morghan Herman of Missouri Valley, and the Senior High Point winner was Dallas Lokey, also of Missouri Valley. The 2015 4-H Sheep Show was held Thursday morning, July 23, in the show ring at the Harrison County Fairgrounds in Missouri Valley. Walter Schaben of Dunlap took home top honors for Market Pair and Market Individual. Austin Adair was awarded the plaque for the Grand Champion Market Pen of Three.
